City Gardens® showgarden in Beinwil am See, Aargau

On 9. Juli 2005, Landscaping and Garden Design firm City Gardens® opened a showgarden in Beinwil am See, Aargau, with local partner-firms the Seetaler Garten-Center and the Seetaler Gartenbau. In a second phase, completed in April 2006, a water garden was added to the garden.

There are three areas to see in the showgarden: a mediterranean-style garden, a small shady garden with water fountain, a romantic garden with pavillon, rose arches and a summer house, the City Gardens® sales office, and a water garden. here, customers can discuss their wishes and requirements and make arrangements to have their garden planed and designed. In addition visitors to the showgarden can view and order traditional english-style garden furniture from Barlow Tyrie.

The showgarden's design concept

The showgarden is the work of the British /Swiss garden designer Susan Ernst-Peters, owner of landscaping and garden design company City Gardens® and reflects her philosophy. The showgarden demonstrates what can be achieved in a small space - with materials, plants and craftsmanship based on a garden planning  and design philosophy that reflects comtemporary trends and lifestyle. Most people these days have a small outdoor area at their disposal, a hectic lifestyle and very little time to garden themselves. Nevertheless the need is great for a beautiful garden in which to relax, unwind and entertain friends. The location of an urban garden is often exposed, shady or hot and dry. Cold winters with snow add to the extreme conditions. The problems to resolve are great, so too are the expectations.

Basically, it is possible for anyone to create a beautiful garden, regardless of how small or disadvantaged the site appears. Often, however, one's own attempts to create the vision for a real garden leave much to be desired!  "A garden isn't a fenced in piece of nature that one decorates with a couple of pots in Spring and tidys away in September. In a real garden, one can experience seasonal change, all year round. That's what we create." says garden designer Susan F. Ernst-Peters.

The atmosphere of any garden reflects a story of the user's lifestyle, taste and requirements. Through professional planning and design creative solutions can be found for a garden space that create the mood, satisfy individual wishes and meet the challenges of the site and setting in an appropriate way.
